Kerner

Kerner is a German white grape created in 1929 by crossing the red Trollinger grape with Riesling, inheriting much of Riesling's aromatic, floral character but with softer acidity and a fuller texture. It typically shows a pronounced grapey, Muscat-like bouquet alongside bright fruit flavors. It's grown widely across Germany's wine regions as an easier-ripening, food-friendly alternative to Riesling.
