Silvaner

Silvaner (also spelled Sylvaner) is a white grape most associated with Germany's Franconia region, where it's valued precisely because it doesn't shout its own flavor — it acts as a "blank canvas" that reflects the earthy character of the vineyard soil. Wines are typically dry with brisk acidity, ranging from simple everyday drinking to elegant, food-friendly bottlings at their best.
