Moldova is a small but historically significant wine-producing country with one of the highest densities of vineyards relative to land area in the world. It grows both native grapes and international varieties, and is home to Mileștii Mici, an enormous underground cellar holding the Guinness-record largest wine collection on Earth.

Moldova is a major but under-the-radar wine producer, drawing on indigenous grapes—especially the native black Fetească neagră—alongside a broad range of international varieties. Its southern regions are particularly suited to red and semi-sweet wines, and vast limestone tunnels near Chișinău shelter millions of aging bottles, including the world's largest wine collection.
