Kotsifali is a Cretan red grape that ripens to high sugar levels, giving wines with real alcohol warmth but naturally soft tannins and gentle acidity. Because it's light in color and structure on its own, it's almost always blended with the deeper-colored, higher-acid Mandilaria grape to produce a more balanced wine.
