Maipo Valley

Region

Maipo Valley, just outside Santiago, is the historic birthplace of the Chilean wine industry and remains best known for bold, structured Cabernet Sauvignon, with Carmenère playing a growing role. Its Mediterranean climate and varied microclimates across three sub-zones, shaped by altitude and coastal influence, support both reds and, increasingly, whites closer to the coast.
