Muscadet

Appellation

Muscadet is a crisp, dry white wine from the Atlantic-influenced western end of the Loire Valley near Nantes, made almost entirely from the Melon de Bourgogne grape despite its name suggesting a musky character. Many bottles are aged sur lie (on their lees), a technique that added complexity and helped revive the wine's reputation after decades of being seen as simple and forgettable.
