Melon de Bourgogne

Melon de Bourgogne is a neutral French white grape best known as the sole grape behind Muscadet, a light, bone-dry wine from the mouth of the Loire River. Winemakers there often age it "sur lie" — resting the finished wine on its spent yeast cells — which adds a subtle creamy texture to its naturally crisp, saline character. It's rarely seen as a standalone varietal outside this small corner of France.
