Petit Manseng

Petit Manseng is a small, thick-skinned white grape from southwest France whose skin resists rot, letting growers leave it on the vine well into autumn to shrivel and concentrate its sugars. That's what makes it the backbone of Jurançon's famous late-harvest dessert wines, which stay remarkably fresh thanks to the grape's naturally high acidity; it also makes striking dry, aromatic whites.
