Agiorgitiko

Agiorgitiko (also called Saint George) is the most widely planted red grape in Greece, centered on the Nemea region of the Peloponnese, and it's remarkably versatile — the same grape can make everything from pale, fruity rosé to soft, easy-drinking reds to big, tannic, oak-aged bottlings meant for aging. It's known for deep color, plush plum and red-fruit flavors, and a naturally low acidity that winemakers have to manage carefully. Its texture and approachability have earned it comparisons to a Greek Merlot.
