Picpoul (Piquepoul) is a white grape from France's Languedoc coast whose name translates roughly to "lip-stinger," a nod to its mouth-puckering acidity. It's best known as Picpoul de Pinet, a zesty, seaside white so associated with shellfish that locals simply call it "the oyster wine."
Also known as Languedocien, Picapoll.
