Touriga Nacional

Red wine Dão

Touriga Nacional is Portugal's most celebrated red grape, historically the top-quality component in Port and increasingly used to make bold, dry table wines in the Douro and Dão regions. The vines are naturally low-yielding with tiny, thick-skinned berries, giving wines intense color, high tannin, and concentrated black fruit and violet aromas. It ages remarkably well, whether bottled as a sweet fortified Port or a dry red.

Also known as Bical Tinto, Mortágua, Preto Mortágua, Touriga Fina, Tourigao, Tourigo Antigo, Tourigo do Dão, Turiga.
