Vranac, whose name evokes a 'strong black stallion,' is the most widely planted red grape in Montenegro, making deep, full-bodied wines with a firm tannic grip. Young Vranac is bright purple and full of red-berry fruit, while aged versions soften into a smoother wine with notes of dark fruit and warm spice.
Also known as Vranec.
