Gewürztraminer

Pink/gris wine Alsace

Gewürztraminer is one of the most instantly recognizable white grapes, thanks to its pink-tinged skin and an intensely perfumed bouquet often compared to lychee, rose petals, and spice, hence the name, German for spiced Traminer. It tends to run low in acidity and finishes anywhere from off-dry to lusciously sweet, giving it a bigger, richer presence on the palate than most whites.

Also known as Gewürz, Red Traminer, Traminer.
