BadenMüller-Thurgau is a mild, low-acid German white grape created by crossing Riesling with another variety, bred to ripen earlier and more reliably than its famous parent. It makes soft, fruity wines meant to be drunk young, and was historically the workhorse grape behind cheap, slightly sweet blends like Liebfraumilch. Modern versions, sometimes labeled Rivaner, are usually made dry and simple.
