Rkatsiteli

White wine Georgia

Rkatsiteli is one of the oldest cultivated grape varieties in the world, an ancient white grape from Georgia and the Caucasus. It's prized for its natural, racy acidity, which keeps both its dry table wines and its lusciously sweet dessert wines from Kakheti feeling balanced rather than cloying, and it's also the grape most associated with Georgia's amber, skin-contact orange wines made in buried clay vessels called qvevri.
