Valpolicella is a red wine zone around Verona in the Veneto, built primarily on the Corvina grape with Rondinella and other local varieties in support. Its cool, lake- and hill-influenced climate and traditional grape-drying techniques, used for its richer Amarone and Ripasso styles, give the wines their characteristic bright acidity and cherry fruit.
