Viognier is a lush, full-bodied white grape best known from the Condrieu region of France's Rhône Valley, prized for its heady perfume of peach, pear, and violets. Unlike many aromatic whites, it's naturally low in acidity, giving wines a soft, rounded texture closer to a light red than a typical crisp white. It's usually made dry and rarely sees much oak, letting its natural florals take center stage.
