Sangiovese

Red wine Brunello di Montalcino

Sangiovese is Italy's most planted red grape and the backbone of Chianti and Brunello di Montalcino. It produces medium-bodied wines with high acidity — the tart, mouthwatering sensation that makes a wine feel fresh — and firm tannins, along with distinctive sour-cherry and dried-herb flavors. Its bright acidity makes it a natural partner for Italy's tomato-based cuisine.

Also known as Brunello, Morellino, Nielluccio, Prugnolo Gentile, Sangiovese Grosso.
